Job Description Summary:

Assists in planning, directing and delivering public services in the Library.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the planning, coordinating and evaluating of library services
Participates in collection development and implementing a variety of library-based information technology applications
Assists in the development of Library policies and procedures
Trains and supervises support staff and student workers as directed
Assists customers with basic library needs, including conducting research, online database searching, selecting material, and developing research strategy
Prepares periodic reports pertaining to library services as directed
Provides orientations to the library through class presentations, tours, and individual instruction
Assists in the selection of new employees
In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, assumes responsibility for library operations
Assists in developing, maintaining, and evaluating the collection to support instructional programs
Collaborates with faculty to develop library instruction and learning objectives to meet the needs of students and the college community
Participates in campus and District committees
Provides direct informational, reference, and reader’s advisory services to the public
Helps to promote library awareness and use
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years of professional library experience in a community college setting
Demonstrated success in teaching
