Community Discussion: Former US Sec of Education John King Jr

By IS Lab November 8, 2018

Join us for a community discussion with former United States Secretary of Education Dr. John King, Jr.

Dr. King served in President Obama’s cabinet as the 10th U.S. Secretary of Education.  President Obama called Dr. King “an exceptionally talented educator,” citing his commitment to “preparing every child for success” and his lifelong dedication to education as a teacher, principal, and leader of schools and school systems.  Dr. King currently serves as the president and CEO of The Education Trust, a national nonprofit organization that seeks to identify and close opportunity and achievement gaps, from preschool through college.

Dr. King will be sharing some remarks on the present state and future direction of education in the United States and then will be available for a question & answer session with attendees.

Join us this coming Wednesday, November 14th from 9:30 – 10:30am at the Luskin Conference Center, Legacy Room.
