SISTERS OF SOCIAL SERVICE ARCHIVES MISSION STATEMENT
To gather, organize and preserve the history and heritage of the Sisters of Social Service for present and future generations, especially as it relates to the social, religious and cultural development and transformation of society toward a better world.

POSITION TITLE
Assistant Archivist, Part time (20 hours per week)

DUTIES
To gather, organize and process materials
To perform other tasks related to Archives as needed or requested

QUALIFICATIONS
–Archival Work Experience
–Good handwriting and printing skills
–Good telephone manner
–Knowledge of general business and office procedures
–Ability to plan, organize and maintain a detailed and complicated record system.
–Computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft software, especially in Excel
–Good written, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
— Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential materials
–Demonstrates an attitude of cooperation, service and professionalism.
–Ability to work independently
–Ability to work as a team member
–Able to lift boxes and materials up to 25 pounds
–Preferred Education Requirements: Masters in Library Science or Archives
–Preferred Experience Requirements: Two to five years as Archivist or Assistant Archivist.
