Television Academy Foundation
The Television Academy Foundation has an unpaid internship opportunity available in The Interviews Department. The Interviews: An oral history of television is a 23+ year program dedicated to preserving the history of television through first-hand, long-format video oral history interviews with those who helped to create and shape it. We are embarking on a multi-year preservation project to digitize, catalog, preserve, and provide greater access to the collection.
An intern would observe and participate in this process on multiple levels. Responsibilities may include assisting in quality-assurance checks on media and metadata, learning our highly detailed cataloging system and tagging methods, gaining knowledge of public access methods to our collection (via our website TelevisionAcademy.com/Interviews, our YouTube channel, and social media), and learning how to edit interview video for special projects
- Experience with basic cataloging protocol, archival processes, and metadata standards required.
- Knowledge of television history preferred.
- Interest in/knowledge of oral history best standards and practices preferred.
- Video editing skills a plus (Premiere)
