Early Literacy Coordinator Position Announcement
We are hiring for a full-time Early Literacy Librarian (Coordinator) at the Hays Public Library. This position oversees library services for preschool-age citizens and caregivers. The position will develop new and innovative programs, spaces, and collections. The Early Literacy Librarian reports to the Public Services Manager.
The Early Literacy Librarian oversees all facets of the early childhood program at the Hays Public Library. This person facilitates storytimes, reading programs, and other literacy initiatives. They create programs that develop early literacy skills in our youngest patrons and work with early childhood partners, other staff, and caregivers to prepare youth for learning.
The Early Literacy Librarian must be able to facilitate storytimes, trainings, and engage in other large and small public speaking situations effectively. A newly remodeled Youth Services floor will be completed in January of 2021 with a library-wide renovation planned for completion in March. This is a very exciting time to join the HPL team.

The Early Literacy Librarian/Coordinator hiring range is $31,200 – $38,500/annual. This position has a great benefits package including employee paid health insurance, paid-time-off, paid holidays, and more.
