GENERAL SUMMARY

Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian Role will report to Chief Operating Officer and oversee all asset company-wide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for leading overall strategy, implementation and workflow of the Digital Asset Management system for GR
  • Acts as primary liaison between internal producers (TV, Photography & Digital) with regard to image names, new photography and archiving
  • Lead the creation of new process and workflow to integrate new efficiencies
  • Responsible for assigning appropriate metadata for assets to ensure accurate usage rights
  • Manages the Digital Asset system and facilitate the uploading of assets as well as maintaining and upgrading the system
  • Registers internal and external users to the Digital Asset Management system based on permissions
  • Facilitates retrieval of previously cataloged images/shoots
  • Processes raw images using the appropriate software
  • Archive assets as necessary
  • Generates asset download reports
  • Maintains accurate procedures and records for the system
  • Keeps informed of latest Digital Asset Management technology trends and innovations
  • Actively looking for new improvements and alternative platforms if needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Computer Science or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of proven leadership experience managing digital asset management systems
  • Experience with database management and data delivery specifications, workflows via web and API, metadata and taxonomy principles, and project management experience with methodologies such as Agile and Scrum and collaboration products such as JIRA, Confluence, etc
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a modern DAM. (OpenText, Widen, Canto, Extensis or equivalent proprietary system.)
  • Expertise in marketing media & artwork deliverables including, but not limited to broadcast, photography, key art, logo treatments, animated graphics, video/audio source & finished materials
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms and services such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram
  • Basic understanding of television media planning and how it applies to asset delivery
  • Expertise interpreting and understanding highly technical terminology and strong ability to synthesize these concepts to non-technical creatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-based productivity apps (Google Apps, Slack, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite, NLE tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer
  • Working knowledge of photography workflows, and media workflows a bonus
