The City of Santa Clara (pop. 129,488) lies at the center of Silicon Valley, 45 miles south of San Francisco.  Santa Clara has been named one of the ten safest Cities in America; one of the most livable cities in America; and ranks 5th in the nation for the amount of 100% green power used by its customers. The Library department consists of the Central Park Library and two branch libraries and is supported by 46.75 positions and a FY 2020-21 budget of $11.8 million.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary professional capable of inspiring and leading a multi-generational workforce, maximizing possibilities for this award-winning library system.  With a strong presence in the community, he/she will proactively serve the needs of a diverse population, conveying innovation and the desire to make a difference.

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree and five years of increasingly responsible professional library service, including four years as assistant director or division manager of a comparable/larger library system.  Experience serving a diverse population in California preferred.  Master’s degree in Library/Information Sciences highly desirable.  Salary range is $208,404 – $269,700 supplemented by competitive benefits.  Visit for info and to apply by Sunday, April 18, 2021.
