City of Hope is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution with over 6,000 employees, is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases and guided by a compassionate, patient-centered philosophy. City of Hope Library Services consists of four librarians and two support staff. The library supports the information needs of the City of Hope medical center, research institute, which includes a graduate school, and the Translation Genomics Institute in Phoenix. The Office of Educational Technology is also part of Library Services. The office consists of four staff that manage the learning management system and student information system for educational programs at City of Hope.

This internship is a good opportunity for a library science student interested in pursuing a career in medical libraries. The intern will work with the Director, Library Services, Scholarly Communications Librarian, Clinical Librarian, and Discovery and Access Librarian, to assist them with regular day-to-day and project work. The intern will complete a specific project of their choosing, based on the needs of the library. Questions about the internship can also be directed to the library director. Job Responsibilities

 Build a knowledge base of FAQs for common reference questions received by the library.
 Build LibGuides resources for consumer health, remote access methods, scholarly communication, or other topics.
 Develop a marketing plan for the library.
 Assisting with library strategic planning, including background research on applying EBP to strategic planning
