The Information Studies Research Lab (IS Lab) is a hub of activity supporting the research, instruction, and professional development of students, faculty, and staff in the Department of Information Studies.
This academic year marks the beginning of a multi-year strategic development project to enhance the IS Lab’s resources and services. A key role of the IS Lab is to help students acquire practical skills in support of the department’s curriculum. A Specialization Skills Program (SSP) is in the works, as part of the the IS Lab’s developing strategic plan. Potential elements of the SSP include workshops with technical experts, an industry professional speaker series, and a research practicum.
